This task switcher is nice but probably Apple used the icons (option 2 or 2222?) because they're more recognizable than some little screenshot to decide which app to open.

OK I've redone the guides category. So I've finally finished this :).
There are four articles remaining in Old Categories (http://guides.macrumors.com/Category:Old_Categories) all of which frankly should be deleted.
http://guides.macrumors.com/High-Voltage_Differential has nothing to do with Macs or Apple.
http://guides.macrumors.com/I�C is only tangentally related to the sudden motion sensor, but still should go.
and the final article is on Vista Beta 2, which I have already whined about asked to be deleted.

They don't and it doesn't. It says you apply the 1.6 crop to EF-s lenses, just like with EF.

just started folding again - made my self a new account and changed teams to mac rumors - at the moment im only at about 1/3 folding power about (1100 ppd) Sunday or Monday will be adding my new main mac to the team :)

i have the exact same problem, i can't get update to work, i unplugged all the usb and firewire cables etc. nothing, beeeeep, reboot, grey screen, apple and circle for normal boot... frustration.
i'm running startup disk in sriped raid, can this influence the update?

Oh wonderful ... how many of these brilliant analysis's have we had?? They are gonna go for T-Mobile cus they the GSM ... they are gonna go to verizon because they have an awesome network!
Everyone seems to forget that of the big 4, all of the carriers told apple to take a hike (except atnt) because of their the demands of total control of the app store, and the demand of a cut of the general revenue from the phone. atnt pays apple more for the devices than competing products.
atnt now has a data hog of a phone, and because they don't receive revenue from app store sales (even when its being downloaded over the network and not wifi or on a computer) and have to pay and arm and a leg to apple, thus they can't affording to upgrade their network. Mark my words, they will be the last to 4G and they will have the worst 4G network too.
All 3 of the carriers not with the iPhone have gotten behind Android. They have more control over the product, pay less for it, and receive revenue from the android market. Their flagship phones, are all android devices, the Incredible, the Evo and the Nexus One.
A manager has to say ... what exactly does apple have to offer us exactly? except a headache ..

Are you people seriously applauding this? What a waste of our tax dollars!! I do contracts with the Navy every single day and I know that the technology that they have will not be benefited by the use of iPad/iPod/iPhone. The military does not offer wi-fi to their staff on base. Everything is hard wired and the conduit is sealed with a tamper proof silicon. The Government is very very particular about their SIPRnet (as they call it). Without wi-fi, what use is the iPad for the military other than to give them a little treat and waste our tax dollars? They already have mobile equipment in the vehicles that is far superior to Apple's products.
As do I (contracts I mean, except most of them are Air Force). True the no wifi is an issue on base, but are we necessarily talking about just on base? I think without hearing more details of what they want to do with this stuff (which we won't) then we can't really make any judgement calls. This was addressed earlier, but I haven't found a solution yet.
In "Live Feed", Farmville/Game stuff still shows up even if I've selected them not to via the full website
So, if I got to status updates in the app, or the website they don't show up, but they do in the Live Feed.

Kinda agree i could seem myself using a iPad over my MBP when i am not working, having that separation from programming is what appeals to me.
I want to work when i work and not have to think when i am just browsing the web, in reality the iPad covers all my computing needs when i am not programming.
Though it would be lovely to have Aperture on the iPad to cover my hobby needs but it would require some from of local wireless storage access as i don't think many 25MB images would fit on 64GB.

Based on Apple's vascilating attitude over the last year, I'm taking a wait and see position.
I'm very happy to witness their success, yet it's too bad they've chosen to dampen what should be a great celebration, by acting as though they've got to go on the attack with law suits.
In the last year they've launched more suits than any other company in the industry.

Yeah a whopping 3V which means it will take 40% longer to recharge anything using the new connector unless they increase the amperage to compensate.
I assumed that Acc 3v meant power to the Accessory plugged in to the port. The iDevice itself would still charge from power on the data connection.

Your concerns are understood. My question is: how does this differ from having your wallet or credit card stolen? Amazing that we'll secure our computers up tightly to prevent online security breaches but we'll let the sketchy-looking waiter walk away with our credit card in the restaurant.....
OK - I admit that I can a certain tendency toward paranoia :o, but...
With respect to credit cards, most eating places where I am in the UK bring a machine to the table rather than taking the card away. A PIN is required. Also, one can erase or cover the 3-digit number on the back so that you reduce the chances of your stolen card being used online. My worry is that the RFID will be so automatic ('convenient') that you'll be able to wave your phone to purchase goods or services, without any other conformation of your identity. And it is true that security so far on RFID is far from perfect: indeed, one can now purchase shielded passport covers that reduce the chance of criminal access to sensitive passport information via RFID .
EDIT: Also, didn't O2 trial something called 'Wallet' that allowed a mobile phone to be used to buy things? I wonder how the trial turned out...

Backlit keyboard would take it to another level. Theres just something very awesome about the backlit keyboards. I dont need to look at the keys to type, I just like the esthetics of it all. I would also like to see current gen processors in a current gen model. The last thing that I could ask for would be edge to edge display with zero bezel around the display and trim up around the keyboard. Thats all extra bulk as far as Im concerned.
