The very people tossing aside ethics are the ones who used good faith based credit system. Now suddenly it is all Capitalism, Greed, Bank's and Lender's fault. Whatever happen to personal responsibility ?
All those suggesting foreclosure are forgetting one thing: The pendulum has shifted and the same capitalism that supported the reckless credit is now going to choke it off. You don't want to be on the wrong side twice !!!! The thing about free markets is they adjust to new realities long before people do.Before you know it the easy walking away (or foreclosure) might become the biggest mistake while buying house might be distant second.
In the meanwhile please don't shoot the messenger aka sledge_hammer. If you read his posts he has given the best advice with a good dose of much needed reality and sound language. If you are hostile towards him you are simply in denial. The longer you stay there the harder it will be to cope with the new realities.

You will earn it back but you can't undo foreclosure and whatever comes with it in terms of personal memory, your credit and things in future that you can't foresee now. These Numbers are based on the Priority dates of the applicants who filed their Labor.
If you look into the India Category for EB2 and EB3 for July 2007, The Number of Applications filed as per the document are both 1655 and 893 respectively. During July 2007, the dates for EB2-I and EB3-I are current, the USCIS is bombarded with the applications.
I think the Document shows the applicants who started their green card (labor) process.

That's because the existing cases have not had a chance to file their I-485 and therefore are not visible in that report. Does not mean they don't exist. My case is a perfect example of that. I'm not counted in that report but I certainly exist! :-)

just for information i am mentioning here. for this only i registered newly.
one of our friend got GC approval today. both wife and husband got. priority date is 2003 august eb2. mine is 2005 ending eb3. we can consider that as 2006 starting eb3. but when we get dont know. really frustating thing this like many especially who are in eb3. praying for changing the rules to be good for all.
God is with all of us. we too will get soon that good news.

This does not make sence at all. Why the USCIS would make visa number current then retrogress again? I do not think they make all visa current and not expect a flood of applications. .

I've been using Lingo for 3+ years, I called them to ask if they are aware(of course they are), rep said within a week they are coming up with a plan that's better than Vonage. unlimited calling to india and 100+ countries for $22.95. Plus i think they are going to include some free minutes every month that you can use to call india from your work or cell phone using a toll free or access # (just like you use Reliance).
Rep said you will receive an email in a week or so about the new offer/plan.
If you are already a Lingo customer I'd wait a week, Lingo has history of beating any competing plan.

Like others have pointed out, it looks like that the numbers are being allocated in a different way from before. Does any one know of any article or discussion by a real attorney or some expert on what is going on?
But, going back to my original question, what are the legal experts saying? Can any legal entity or any type of action force USCIS to explain what the heck is going on?

While filing for I 485, I was wondering if I can file for my wife's EAD and AP and dont apply for mine (at this time) as I am not going to change the job in next few months. So I will keep working on my H1 (valid till 2009) and she can work on her EAD? Is it possible and legal to do ?

How can they reopen a case thats already approved. They approved and reopened the case on the same day.
We took infopass and they told us that the visa's retrogressed so they had to pull back their decision. I showed the officier visa bulletin and told him that am current as today is oct 1st and the new qouta should have started already.
The response he gave is he cann't access the files as the files are frozen and it will take them about 2weeks to access the files.
My files are at local office as i had an interview on Aug 24th

Thousands of such visa holders scrambled and spent money on lawyers and medical exams to beat the July 1 deadline for green card applications. The abrupt change sent them back to the queue for 2008.

Maybe we can use the H-1 B reform bill, to recapture unused visas during the last many years. Make H-1 B tough but at the same time, release those green card numbers. Carrot and Stick approach.

This is one of the key reasons why we are not successful in our mission. All we can do is "lets kill H1/L1 so I can get GC", "lets not worry about EB3 as long as my EB2 is fine!". The only way we can make any progress is to stay united. Lets not try to find carrots that would really be sticks on people who are also part of this cause.

Heard the same from my lawyer, she has changed her tune completely in 2 days. Now she says that she is hearing the same thing and is possible. I have a question on your solution#4) "granting citizenship to people who have stayed in US for 10 years by rules to pay taxes". The 10 years ----are you talking about several years of study plus several years of working in US in H-1B visa ONLY or for any people who have legally stayed in US for 10 years??? I raise this question because I am curious to know whether I will fit this category. I was a foreign student in US for 10 years and pay foreign student tuition fee in full for 10 years. The first 6 years in several degrees and then back home and then come to US again for professional doctorate degree in 4 years. Originally I find employer to file me the H-1B visa but the quota for Master degree or above is full and then I back home until now. I am sure someone has similar situations to me!!
From other forum, someone said that it is extremely difficult to legalize the illegal aliens due to recent huge economic recession. But if each illegal aliens give non-refundable $5000 immigration entry fee to the country, the country will have about $60 billion fixed income. Then I immediately have thought about if our international students who have stayed in US for 5 years or above give more immigration entry fee to the country, the country will have tremendous cash flow into the economy and may help the economic crisis. You are absolutely right. We visit Mr Oh's website several times a day to get the latest on immigration. We should credit him for being the first in alerting us about everything. If in fact USCIS comes up with a statement rejecting all aplpications filed after a certain date, I'm sure there would be thousands who would be saved by Mr. Oh's timely warning.
I dont know why everybody started to spit on ohio law firm. They just pointed out some news that they got from AILA, right? Lets hope its just a rumor and USCIS doesn't proceed with this revised thing. I am pretty sure that wont happen. Dont worry guys, but dont blame everything on ohio firm. I dont know why everybody started to spit on ohio law firm. They just pointed out some news that they got from AILA, right? Lets hope its just a rumor and USCIS doesn't proceed with this revised thing. I am pretty sure that wont happen. Dont worry guys, but dont blame everything on ohio firm. I am also from India but the point I am discussing here is clearly a violation of law by Outsourcing vendors including IBM (not just Indian companies), TCS, Wipro etc. I work for a medium size consulting firm based in US and on H1 visa ...and I am impacted by these violations and I think I have the right to oppose this act.... to prove my identity shud I tell you my stories in Chennai consulate... or shud I tell u abt my days in b'lore or shud I tell you all abt my 24 years in India.. you can decide :-).
