I am new to this forum. Just registered myself. I hv a question if u guys can help. I got an RFE for I485 for employment verification. Lawyer says he sent the employer verification letter with his signature instead of employers bec employer has given him authorization to do so. can anyone do like this. does this pose a problem for my I485 approval. Please help.

Hello all,
I had my 140 reinstated in Feb-09 after it was denied back in 08 (filed motion to reopen). Last week i inquired about the status of my case since my visa category is current (VB 02/2003), I received a letter yesterday informing me that the case is out of the processing date, my 140 priority date is 12/2002. is this a mistake or my priority date has change to feb-09?

There is no way that she can start working from April. If her H1B is approved, the earliest she can start working will be Oct 1, 2007. Also, make sure that her H1B is filed ASAP because the 20,000 MS quota has also been seen to evaporate pretty quickly (~1-2 months).
In other words, she will have to convince her employer to allow her to start from October.

Let us be very clear, we are MORE THAN WILLING to associate with any org that can be beneficial to us. One of the members of IV had established contact with USINPAC and it has been a very fruitful association
If anyone can do the same thing with any other org (could be 'Chinese Physicians Association', or 'Russians in America' or 'Canadians in USA' or even 'Americans for High Skilled Immigrants' - please note that I made up all the names, but please get the gist) please take the inititative and let us know how it goes.
Also note, that even if we associate with an org primarily working for a particular country, all our issues will benefit EVERYONE from every country. It is impossible to press for an amendment like 'Ability to file I485 without regard to visa number for Indian Nationals only'. The US Government doesn't allow that and neither will IV go in that direction.
The keywords here are 'publicity and exposure'. We really need that to protect our amendments in the Senate and the House Conference

hmmm... i've been trying to export as an eps to freehand or as ai to illustrator, neither of which have been working because i think the file's too big (1200 x 2400). when i export the resulting file appears to be just vertical lines. i'll try just copying and pasting, if it works i will be a happy camper.

I heard that now all we are getting 2 Year EAD/ AP for renewals. Thats very good news to us. I have couple of questions on this.
1. How do we need to pay for renewal? Fee will be 2 years fee or 1 year fee?
2. Is this one combined document with EAD/AP?
3. Is this process already started?

my kids received finger print notice in 1st week of feb 2008 where as my self and my husband got it in Oct 2007
and we were told by my attorney FP is not required for kids below 14 0r so
we didnot try to call USCIS

Please forgive my ignorance Gurus but I want to know when EAD is approved, how would one receive a SSN? Does that need to be applied separately at the local SSA office? If yes, then as per my understanding this would mean a further delay before one can start work, since it takes some time to receive a SSN.
Correct me if I am wrong.
I am referring a common scenario for all H4 visa holders who do not have a SSN.
Please share some knowledge on this.

Just read that if you have sent one check for 1-140 & 485 then the whole package will be returned and you would have to refile your I140. If you have sent separate checks then they will just return the I485 part of your package.
