The following question is posed at www.ktrh.com which is a website for a Houston AM talk radio. This radio station usually plays conservative programs including Rush Limbaugh. So, it is likely that mostly conservatives are visiting and voting on this website:
Should highly skilled workers move to the front of the immigration line?

You can go to this website to view the poll. However, to view the statistics for the first time you will have to vote. To clarify, in the news program this morning they were talking about the points based immigration system which, according to them, is "quitely being considered in the Senate", and they were mentioning that the points based system would favor highly skilled immigrants over extended family and low-skill immigrants.
The point-based system will not be good for this country. Many other countries have point-based systems such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, etc. The most who immigrate in these countries on the point-based system don't have jobs. Only those should be allowed to immigrate who has the job offer here. All the immigration fees and expenses to immigrate should be borne by the employer offering the job.
Not only this, the people who promote this point-based system are interested in shutting off immgration based on family unification. Why you would not like your own family members to be here, when they all have been allowed until this day to bring their own family members from European countries.

There are several spots in the Indy area where you can get such a perspective. One with easy access is high atop Crown Hill cemetary (i.e., the James Whitcomb Riley hilltop gravesite). Sunrise or sunset would be your best bet unless you hit on a really crystal-clear day with no midday haze. You might find something close to what you are after around 16th and Georgetown road, too ;)

This topic seems to be gray for H1B holders. What is allowed and what is not.
* What about cases where people submit content to magazines and are paid a small amount (if published)? It is kind of funny to tell them - "you know I won't accept your $200 bucks because I am on H1B and cannot accept anything else".

Even CIR comes most pro immigrants groups will oppose. CIR will not have Guest workers program for low skilled workers because of high unemployment. So Business and pro illegal group will oppose. EB reform will be there in the CIR. But that will come with Grassley's restrictive bill on H1b. So, for that most high skilled group including IV will oppose. So CIR will be opposed by everyone. Status quo will continue till some compromise is reached.
When it is piecemeal people say we want comprehensive reform.

When it is summer they say Immigration Bill be introduced as early as Winter .

no, it is not the same position. the two positins have 2 different classifications and requirements. the first position (I have LC certified for) is a financial analyst which requires a bachelor degree. the second position is a senior financial analyst (for which LC was denied) which requires a masters degree and it is supervisory position. I asked my employer to request masters + 2 years experience for the senior position but lawyer said that my experience was acquired while working for the employer (while I was working as a financial analyst) so that experience can not count toward the senior position. this was a genuine promotion and not just to apply for EB2.

May be those are two different position. But both are same occupational classification as per SOC/ONET. The employer can not request BS and MS for same occupational class. Conventionaly, the senior/supervisor level will be achived by experience in the occupation not by education.

I recently visited India in June 07. I didn't wanna go and waste a couple of dayz in chennai so wanted to use ma AP. While returnin I showed ma PP to the Immigration officer, he asked me where ma VISA was. I told him i have an AP and showed it to him.. He wasn't surprized. he just let me get in after stampin a seal on my PP.
At Germany (coz i flew via lufthansa) the lady asked my VISA again. I showed her my AP... she suddenly understood and asked me if i had applied for a GC. I said yes.. she signed a form and let me check in at the counter.
Its so simple no problem at all.

Consult with your current company immigration attorney and find out why your current job will not qualify for EB2.
Just in case start your EB3 GC and port your PD to this new GC I-140. That will help you with the H1B renewal for 3 years. You have got 14 more months. you should be able to get I-140 filed by then, do a premium for I-140 to get it approved by the time you renew your H1B.
Renewing your H1B based on the revoked I-140 would be risky.
Did USCIS sent you any notice that your 485 is not valid ?

What a shame and Ignorant people we are trying to motivate...
We are getting requests for getting into the State Chapter but when we ask people to take the survey they are not taking it.
If people cannot take a simple survey, how can they help themselves.
The Join State chapters campaign is going on for months now and it is pathetic that people are still sitting and cribbing and doing nothing but crying on IV forums.
It is really a shame on so called Highly skilled immigrants. Rather it must be highly skilled unmotivated lazy cowards.

We should empahsise how the amnesty offer can set precedence for future influx of people and how US would end up as Latino country, if immigration is not controlled. This can be a sure catalyst for SJ Mercury times as they are trying to find ammunition to counter the Illegal protests

Employers can withdraw the 140 , It could result in NOID for 485 . Please be prepared to respond to NOID.
