I got all my receipt numbers from the cashed checks. Checks cashed on August 9th.
Filed applications at NSC.
Received @ NSC on July 2nd.

Well said!. It is simply a sign of immaturity that some people will just complain but are not willing to do the work , not willing to understand the issue and not willing to understaing the constraints.
If any changes need to be made it upto the individuals to take the intiatives.
DO NOT post such baseless allegations.
IV core is very much aware of the problems as we ourselves face them, and working within our limited means and time. If you are interested, join us and give your helping hand.

and which state did you apply from ? Looks like there is some relation to where it is processed (If your I-140 was not already approved before the USCIS bispec III...see my message before )
My lawyer sent the applications on June 1st and we have the receipts already. They cashed the checks by June 6th.

Yes I received Welcome notice (I-797C approval notice). I am still waiting for my cards.
Today my status got changed to
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Approval notice sent.
On August 12, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

What does ADIT processing means any idea is that we need to go to local USCIS office for the interview?
Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

I have recently been talking to members who have already filed I485 and have used AC21 to change jobs. I noted some limitations people face while changing jobs, getting higher salaries, making use of AC21 for changing more than 1 job.. etc etc.
It seems there is lack of information on this subject. Let us use this thread to
- share expeiences
- List issues you have all faced so that IV can have this information while working on advocay efforts.
- Make others aware of your problems and do's and don'ts in the community.
- Interpretation of various lawyers on this and how they have helped you solve your difficult situations.
Hope this information will help everyone

By law the job should be in different company. However many desi employers are having two or more sister companies. They get it applied under another sister company's name.
Had it been a different company too this porting of date for B (my example above) is not justified. Because when B had originally applied he did not have the EB2 qualification/experience. He gained it later, so he should not be allowed to use the original date for EB2. The law should be the new perm date for the EB2 should be the priority date.
The porting of date should only be allowed in same category, if someone changes a job after 180days of 485 and remains in same category.
EB2 I applicants should point this out. I know many of my friends have started sending out memo to USCIS.. But to take any adminstrative measure more people need to follow or contact USCIS.
Else it is your fate.. you know better what to do...
It is legal per INA to do that.. So your letters and your friends letters are just gutted in the trash right away.. :p

Goal is to get atleast 1000 to start with.
First step is to collect details ( Name, E-mail and Ph No# )
Please send them MAN-WOMAN-GC ASAP . He has gracefully offered to maintain a spreadhseet.
Once we reach the number of resources, we will have conference calls, meet in person whoever can, arrange for money, decide on lawyers ( which MadhuVJ has some very good suggestions ) and move on from there

Yes, but I won't be surprised if the USCIS lawyers interpret the law to suit their convenience. And even worse, the judge buys it.
