Perhaps something as simple as the florist's confirming delivery address etc?
That is the reason they ask for recipient's telephone number. They do warn that they may call the recipient to confirm delivery details.

The first step is to complain to the govt. Maybe if there are lot of complaints, govt will investigate and find the dirt, and fix it.
Another idea is to bring it to the attention of the job boards that discriminatory ads should not be posted. Lets give this a try.
To those effected, write to the govt if you are in a situation where you can.

Anybody who was in India and got greened during that time. I want to understand how it played out upon entering US then? Can somebody reply back here with such an experience. Where to go ? Visa queue or Permanent Residents queue. Show them visa or adv parole or email print out which says welcome to new permanent resident. What happens then? they stamp the passport or allow you to enter under what status?
I want to understand this please. My wife is coming to US on Sat and we got greened yesterday. I want to inform her. My attorney does not know but he says yes she will be allowed to come in for sure and it will be an odd entry. Any experiences please advise.

Once we have recapture we can start pushing USCIS to follow FIFO on PD. but to do that first we need numbers.
Lets forget all thread only for today and make call.

2. Visa numbers wasted by USCIS by their inefficiency
EB1 visa never belonged to EB2 or EB3 category. What if there were enough genuine EB1 people to claim all the EB1 visas. There won't be any spillovers. Spillovers are bonuses. It is never our right to claim those.
If you want your GC faster, work with IV for country cap removal and recapture.
Have you donated a single dime for IV's cause ?We always find it easy to go against fellow immigrants than fighting the injustice at root.

I am also agreeing that as per the current law the L1A - Senior Level Manager can get their GC processed as EB1 and get GC within six months. I agree that this is the current law.
My main concern is the misuse of this law. People who should not get L1A visa are getting L1A using fraud and taking the EB1 visas which otherwise as per law would have trickled down to EB2.
You may be ok with the fraud being done by many of the L1A visa holders and their sponsors. However I am not and I shall support any steps taken by the IV member "L1Fraud".
You may think that the spillovers are bonuses and it�s ok if we do not get them. I differ with you; I feel if someone using fraudulent methods takes our bonuses away we need to protest against that.

You are seeing pappu on the forums because your involvement with IV is only on forums. All others in core team work on other tasks. Forum is just a part of what we do. You cannot achieve any legislative or admin fix just by creating a website and installing a forum software.There is a big advocacy and organizational work we have to do on regular basis. If everyone in the team tries to do everything, then nothing will ever be done. Do volunteer your time and get involved. You will get to communicate with many others and work with them closely.

The reason transit visas are required in the UK is that many passengers with an intention to transit the UK have stayed. The transit visa was introduced as a way of making sure (as much as possible) that the passenger has the intention and the ability to transit the UK and to enter a third country.

Are you sure you have a job, a house and have the capacity to get to work without needing assistance ?
Your simplistic explanation about ARMs Vs length of ownership of the house, decision to 'leave the house' because of a job (whatever that means, did you lose your job or did you find a better job or what ?) is just incredible.
How much down payment did you make ? Won't you lose that amount?
Here is a conversation I had with a co-worker recently:
Co-worker took a 3/1 ARM and bought a house which is beyond her means. Now the rate adjusted to a crazy amount and she is finding it hard to pay her mortgage. She blames everybody from her broker to banker to Obama to Paulson to foreign workers.
Rationalizing to suit your needs is a fallacy. As a grown up you have to own up to the decisions you make. Running away from your financial commitments giving simplistic rationalizations will get you into deeper trouble.
Anyways, my own interest in this discussion is what sledge_hammer nailed, people like him/her and I pay for your greed.

1) Frankfurt (Air-India or Lufthansa).
2) Amsterdam (KLM, Northwest, United)
3) Dubai/Sharjah/Kuwait (Emirates, Kuwait Air)
4) All Pacific stopovers - Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore (China Air, JAL, Korean Air, Malaysian Airlines, Singapore Airlines)
Thumbrule : Via the Atlantic route (Europe stopover) you must avoid London, Paris, Geneva (other Swiss airports are fine). Via the Pacific route, you are fine with any airport/airline.
In my case, I used Air-India from Chicago to Mumbai via Frankfurt (twice in 2005). No transit visa issues and great food - hot samosas soon after takeoff from Chicago !

I do not want to spoil the fun and do truely appreciate the efforts by the IV team. But after sitting in the GC queue for 7 years, all my hopes nearly dead. Campaigns come and go but nothing ever happens.
