Great!! People are already talking about the flowers to USCIS. By the way, there are flower websites, with same day delivery.
I have convinced a few people at work to do this. Their point is, if we really want to do this, let's do it in a way that works. After receiving a few deliveries, USCIS will get the idea and direct it's lobby security to refuse all further flower deliveries. What's our plan for that situation?
How did the people who delivered nuts to CBS make it happen? The delivery was actually done via UPS. It's difficult to refuse a UPS packet in the security lobby! Should we send chocolates via UPS instead? It will be much more difficult to refuse deliveries of chocolates.

Processing application based on Priority dates which is applicable to Any Employement (EB1, EB2, EB3) or Even family categories, with respect to Quota for that catagories..
Again as Somebody mentioned Earlier, its not going to get solved in 2-3 Months, So this will be helpful only from Futuristic purpose.
Its Vision problem, But this can't be solved by Lawsuites, It needs discussions, Negotiations and Communication, By Who have access to USCIS representative. In a Nutshell IV or AILA Kind of group, need to bring on their agenda, if they think its in Best interest for everybody.

Any lobbying for immigration is tough at the time of recession. I think you are trying to do advocacy effort. Without getting approval from core IV group it will not be any use as advocacy effort only will not work. Senators will note your concerns and will act only if some bill is introduced. You need lobbying with advocacy effort for changing any law. Lobbyists will lobby only at right time as if they do in wrong time it will backfire.

While your story is interesting, but I beg to differ again, because, immigration is not something which would be discussed in the Congress for the first time, if we are successfull in bringing something. Each and every single lawmaker in this country understand immigration to the extent that you may not even start to guess...People who oppose us have been putting their restrictive bills again and again so they are going to continue doing that despite of us do something or sleep, do you think Numbersusa wait for us to do something, their anti.... mill will keep churning.

Not sure about the GreenCard Application because the link is not working. However, USCIS has shown significant improvement in handling H1B application for this year. They conducted lottory for 163K application in just one week and also honoring the premium processing timeframe.

When I joined Company X (prior employer) I paid for H1b transfer fee and h1b renewal fee(total $3200 + $3000).
They agreed to sponsor my green card(just to give required paperwork) and they asked me to pay GC cost, So far I have paid $1500 for labor +$1700 advertisement + $1700 for I-140 + $3750 just now to file I-485 for me and for my spouse as dates were current to my lawyer . I have labor and I-140 approved from Company X.
I was compromising my personal life by staying away from my family and company X didn't find any client near to my home. I decided to stay at home hoping Company X will find some client near to my home. I was on a bench(no salary for a month).When I asked for a "employment letter "to file I-485 Comapny X said they can't give because they are not paying me , I said I will resign and then you give me "future employement letter". I resiged Company X( i found company Y near to my home), in 10 days they cancelled my H1b visa without informing me, gladly I found Company Y and H1b transfer took place before they could cancel my H1b. Company X is reluctant even today to give future emplyement letter.They are ready to do corp-to-corp, forthat have to pay them H1b tranfer cost of $3200(as my prior h1b got cancelled by company X) . I don't beleive its worth going back to them , but at the same time never wanted to lose $8650 green card cost.
To join Company Y again I paid h1b transfer fee and , company Y expects me to pay Green card cost again. I am on 7th year extension. New H1b is valid till 2010(3 yr extension on I-140 approval from company X).
Shall I start green card again with company Y ?
Company X doesn't respond to emails/calls. There should some law to protect us from such employers. BTW Employer X was an american employer and wants to follow book-rules.Example .. informing USCIS to windraw H1b petition.

What drives the decision for a bill to be considered in Congress/Senate? WHY can't we pitch SKIL or TALENT Bills as a means to separate legal immigration from the ongoing CIR debate?
If politicians are introducing these bills, they should be willing to back them up separtely instead of saying that these come into picture only if CIR fails. Or is the introduction of other bills a sign of CIR's imminent failure? Since the top IV team has the visibility with politicians, this hypocrisy should be resolvable. Please tell us why these bills cannot be taken up while CIR is pending? Isn't that what the lobbying company is supposed to help us with?
No one is prepared to jeopardize their political careers over 12 million illegal immigrants. Thought I have said in my earlier posts that we cannot alienate ourselves from the illegal issue I think we need to take the next step and start to contact the senators who have introduced and backed the SKIL, PACE and TALENT act to see if this can be pushed through senate and congress as seperate bills.

i think this walk should be postponed out to atleast a week or two away.
Firstly i live in Santa clara myself and i had no clue about this till now (less than 24 hours away)
If we organize this the right way you can get atleast a few hundreds of people.
Wait till July 10th, see if we get media coverage with the whole gandhigiri idea.
Organize this and publicize.. start email chains .. for example cisco/oracle etc have lots of H1bs.
hang placards with the number of years you have waited/you educational qualification/ SSN tax and other taxes paid...
make a single file.. and walk about 2 miles without any slogans.
get the media to cover this event appropriately.

Has any one in the forum here have a FP notice for a 4 and half year child during the 485 process. I ask this question as my daughter did not get one.

Yes, I got a FP notice for my daughter as she was born in India; and I had applied 485 for her as well.
She was 4 and a half years in Nov 07 when we got the notice. I am a July-Aug 07 filer.
Her FP notice came for a separate date though, diff from my wife's and mine.
I wd suggest you to call USCIS/ur attorney and check.

I can't understand why Sanhari's suggestion would rile up EB2 folks. All he suggested was to use the EB spillover visas for oldest cases irrespective of EB category and country.
Sanhari - Are you sure that this is a USCIS decision? Can USCIS change the way the do the spillover without legislation change?

However, if we do the ground work and then approach them, we may have a better chance of succeeding.

My checks got encashed this friday. Applications were delivered to NSC on July 2nd, later forwarded to TSC. My I140 was approved in TSC.
When the checks get encashed, the receipts number are printed on the back of the check. Using the receipt number you can track your application. I also subscribed for automated email from the USCIS website if there is any change in the status. I got an automated reply from USCIS yesterday.
Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On August 21, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. Retrogressed all the way to 2000? Happened at the end of Q3 in the government calendar. Seem to me USCIS is laying the ground to assign all un-used visa number to indians in Q4. Just a guess....
