I don't think 90k for someone with 7-8 years of experience is high in most parts of US. Market rate for IT professionals might have increased in people working with niche technologies. But in general, I see a down trend. And with more people in the job market in Jan 08 (with AC21), I can predict the rates heading south.
Everyone of those people using AC21 will come from an existing job. They will typically go to a higher paying job. Every one of those jobs vacated will have to be sought on the open market, where they'll have market rates of today vs three years ago.

My wife is using EAD . I am still on H1 and have not started using EAD. Can I still switch to a new employer with a H1 transfer ?. Or since, she is in EAD, should I do an AC21 only with EAD ?. Thanks..

I really am not able to understand your education pattern
10 = Std 10th
+2 = Std 12th I assume
+1 = Is this the commerce 1st year?
+3 sounds to be your diploma right? now what was eligiblity for the diploma 10th or 12th? I am assuming it was 10? since it was 3 years course.
My friend I hate to be sounding pessimistic but your education might add upto 16 years but it is not progressive 16 years as required for a bachelors program, most of it is redundant. your +2 (12th grade) and diploma are overlapping. Your +1 is completely tangential to your course work. It is same as some one doing 1st year courses for 3 different strems example 1st year Science , 1st year arts and 1st year commerce and then claiming he has equivalent of 3 years bachelors course work completed and so he be awarded a bachelors degree.
Please dont feel bad. I do not want to give you any false hopes. Please consult some proffessional evaluators to check if there is a way they can make your education sound progressive but looking at USCIS response you pasted they have evaluated your diploma and cannot accept it as equivalent to degree program. Or saying I have 2 Masters degree so count it as equivalent to a PhD that cannot happen even if the person might have completed equal number of credits as PhD still it is at masters level and not at PhD level plus they are not cumulative which will be the most sticking out point.
I dont know who will pay for the MTR + refiling in case your employer is going to shoulder these expenses then there is really no harm in trying but if it is you who has to pay for appeals then my friend it will be better if you consult education evaluators and some other lawyers like Murthy, Khanna to get a second opinion before you embark on this long and costly journey.

OP - as long as you followed all laws and everything is perfect with you, don't worry.
Almost all the AC21 denials that I am aware of have been successfully reversed if you think that is the case.
Do not expect any valuble information from USCIS when your date is not current.
They can give the following if you go for infopass : name check issues, address change issues, FP issues, (if u r lucky they might tell u that it is preadjudicated) etc...
As an alternate you may want to contact the Ombudsman and explain in detail about your thoughts on this cryptic letter and request for "proper information"
As another alternative - contact your law maker. Go to your congressman's office and show the cryptic letter. Tell them you are concerned, you have family and followed all rules properly and curious to know if there is anything wrong that is going on that you might not be aware of and would like to correct it.
A proper response will give you peace of mind.

My checks got encashed yesterday.My application reached at NSC at 8:26 A.M. on july 2,2007.It looks like they are working on our applications.As long as our papers are filed correctly,we shouldn't worry.I was also anxious like you. Just have patience.

Not a fan of AZ law, but I'm delighted that it has pushed immigration issue to the forefront, forced federal govt's hand and jolted it out of its inaction. Many a battles will be won/lost over immigration in Nov 2010 elections.

I dont see any light at the tunnel. PDs will not move until they allow 485 filing even PD is not current.
Please send the letter to WH if not already. As lasantha said, filing for I-485 when PD is not current is something IV is taking up with the administration. But, we need to get more letters to support our argument that this systemic dysfunction at USCIS is widespread and is affecting tens of thousands of people and not just a mere 1200 (that is the letters total so far and 10% of that comes from needhelp's efforts:))

There are rumors that we will be around 5000 at the rally. Let's prove them wrong and bring at least 10,000 of our members. I am willing to share more funds for people who so far are not planning to attend, and to advertise and promote the rally as much as possible. Guys, we still have nearly 3 weeks, we can get to 10,000 and beyond! Let's work hard now to accomplish that! Please post your ideas here to make it more than 10,000. While we work on bills, is there anything that can be done without a bill but from some kind of an order from the President's office or the Head of USCIS. Getting a bill thru congress in this climate seems next to impossible ( If we could just counter the -ve bills/amendments that would be significant).
What I am trying to say is there something somewhere that can be done with just one office making the decision then we can all make a concentrated effort towards that one office as we do have a few Legal immigration friendly people at every office.
Any ideas????

I do have copy of labor approval but I donot have copy of job description that they filed for labor. I also have copy of 140 approval.
I don't think I can get letters from HR (there are couple of people who handles everything from getting timesheets to posting payslips) as they very loyal to my employer.
Then I guess my only options are
- give it a try to file through another attorney with paystubs and without employer letter.
- forget about $5000 and proceed.

and i July last year i applied for my I 485, and got my EAD in Sep 2007.
Now the total 180 days have been passed am i eligible for AC21 and if yes then what are the formalities to get AC21.
