There are not many EB3 approvals so far. It means USCIS doesn't have many cases in their inventory with cut-off date of Oct'08 VB so I hope DOS move the EB3 cut off dates forward in Nov'08 bulletin and more cases become eligible.

Please don't hink that CP filers are not contributing in any efforts of immigration voice, I have also sent letters to president for this latest campaign although there was no point mentioned for CP. I know that we can win this battle together.
In short I just want to say that it would be good if we all work together please do consider the CP filers as part of this community.

in my case, i can tell you that i found CSC to be faster in processing EAD and AP then NSC or TSC. just look at my details below.
the only disadvantage is that it will take a while for FP appointment.
still have not received mine.

In my earlier post, I dint mean to say that all Kinkos are bad, its just the particular one near me was not good enough. The photos were as if they were taken with a yellow filter on their lenses.
Sears did a very good job instead.
You can just tell them that you need photos for passport. They are the same requirements
Think it this way, your photo might be scanned by their machine to be printed on visa/notice. If the photo is not of good quality it might get pixelated after they scan.
So be your own judge, think if you were in USCIS shoes and had to scan a photo and produce it on visa/stamp. They might also use some image recognition softwares for which they require exact speicifications.
In my case the yellow tinge I got from kinkos exactly matches with the improper color on the website below. So i had to go for other option

On July 31st we got an email informaing us that my wife's EAD is approved and card production is ordered. Again on August 4th we got an email stating that the case is approved. Now we are surprized because if the case was actually approved on July 31st, she may get a two years EAD, but if it was approved on August 4th, she may get the EAD for one year only, as our PD is current.
BTW, My approval CRIS email came on July 28th, and I have got my EAD card for two years validity.

FBI Name Check
Q1. How has USCIS changed its national security reporting and adjudication
requirements?
A1. USCIS has not changed its background check policies as those policies related to naturalization
applications. Recently, the agency did modify its existing guidance for applications where the
immigration laws allow for the detention and removal of individuals if actionable information from a FBI
name check response is received after approval. For these types of applications, including applications
for lawful permanent residence, the adjudicators will approve the application if it is otherwise approvable
and the FBI name check request has been pending for more than 180 days. No application for lawful
permanent residence will be approved until a definitive FBI fingerprint check and Interagency Border
Inspection Services (IBIS) check are completed and resolved favorably.
Q2. Why is this policy being implemented?
A2. This policy change is in response to a 2005 DHS Inspector General recommendation that USCIS
align its background check screening policies with those of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Q3. Is this policy consistent with the national security priorities of USCIS and the Department of
Homeland Security?
A3. Yes. No application for lawful permanent residence will be approved until a definitive FBI
fingerprint check and Interagency Border Inspection Services (IBIS) check are completed and resolved
favorably. In addition, in the unlikely event that DHS receives actionable information after the
application is approved, it will initiate removal proceedings. Lastly, in general these individuals have

I am still waiting for FP notice, i got my EAD/AP/RD, for both of us.
It was filed @ NSC on July 6th, ---> CSC -----> NSC. I got my LUd on 09/21 last on our 485.

common guys why are you making it as bigger issue.
All he is going to give is 2K more than normal lawyer fee, which is just a 1 dollar per year for an hourly employee. I would advice him to happily take this offer and file without any complication with employer.
Note desi employer (consulting company) are doing us favor by applying GC, other wise where the heck they have a permanent job.
Take it easy now and ACt after 6 months of filling 485.
Also these days lawyers have to do Overtime to prepare documents for sudden surge of new filers.
I have no issues giving the lawyer what ever they want, if I can be assured that I will be getting good service for what I paid . If the law firm has a history of delays & screw ups etc, I do not see a reason why we have to pay hefty fees to get screwed in the end. There are a lot of stories where people have been screwed due to paralegal mistakes. We have waited so many years and I would like to control my destiny at least now. People have different opinions. Thats just how I feel.
Every one is talking about potential RFE's and seeking lawyers help in that case. What will any one do if they an free RFE after180 days of receipt notice and you are no longer with the company? What kind of RFE's are people getting if they are using EAD instead of H1B? Do they get any in the first place? Can some one who has been on EAD and received RFE's shed some light?
