Hi,
I was going thru the chain of I-140 issues, my case is a bit similar but wanted some expert advice...
My employer filed I-140 in June but I did not get any approval yet so my employer ask me to wait until it approved then file for I-485?
Are there chances that if I file I-485 it would get rejected?

Just now my lawyer called to tell that she got all my receipts , filed on july 2nd but my wifes application was rejected for "insufficient filing fees", I had put in a single check for $745 , how can this be, it was both in the same fedex packet, she says it is some "mailroom error", so she sent back the application with a letter and my receipt copy to accept. My app also had a $745 check and that was receipted,

I recieved AINP File number on Nov -05-2009. Since then i havent recieved anything else.Can anyone send me the link to check the processing time for AINP, a part from the this link (Alberta, Canada - Immigration : Processing times (http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrate/processingtimes.html)).

People voted Obama just for economy and jobs. I remember when Paulin was announced GOP was leading for 2 weeks. When Stock market started tanking with demise of Lehmen GOP started losing. Imstead of not concentrating on economy he started working on healthcare. So democrats lost. In this situation he will realise now and he will take economy as first priority and immigration will be last 10th priority. Immigration group may have defend many anti immigrant bills and memos in this year. But nothing will be passed either for or against immigrants. Status quo will continue for 2010. Also people on one area does not like what is liked in other area and when we have a product that contains both, well the same people now unite and start to not like the final product and this goes on ..... It is same CHANGE that President Obama mentions too often, but the same change is Now liked by Republicans, and Dems did not like the change this time around. Also with the communication revolutions, the election campaign seems to have become much much long.... And Oh !! Well... now our President apart from Health Care Reform, Immigration Reform and climate change issue, also need to work on his re-election from now on, if he doesn't want the change he loves some much, in White House in 2012 election... HOPE - at least people in this group, see CHANGE for better, CHANGE from AOS to LPR .... Now, let us see what will this loss of filibuster majority by Dems do in the interim.... Only time can tell. Change we can believe in !!!

Hi, there,
I've just done my final interview with one company. they are very satisfied with my experiences and tech skills and have strong intent to hire me. after several time interviews with them, there is only 2 candidates left. I am the one of them. but now the hiring manager has concern on my visa problem. I am currently have EAD (will expire 1 year later) and my 140 has been approved and 485 pending is far over 180 days. I should not have visa problem, right? may I get your comments how I can convince this hiring manager on my status?

the process of interviews. Can you please tell us how you are notified about a possible interview, how much time you have to prepare for the interview (15 day notice, 30day notice??), how one can postpone the interview (calling USCIS or need to send a letter) etc.

I came to know about my interview from the embassy web site and they send us pakage 4 also. Then we informed them by mail asking to postpond for 3 month. They confirmed the same. I am in India embassy is in New Delhi

I have an approved I-140 and july 485 filer, also have valid h1 till 2010.
I work for company X and have an offer from company Y.
What are my best options now
1. Transfer H1 to Y - if yes what impact would this have on my GC processing?
should the new H1-B Job code match with my Labor Certification?
2. Use EAD - the complication here is my desi employer filed my labor
as an IT Manager which i am not and i am not sure the new employer would
give me the matching offer letter.

We now have a senator to focus our energies on - Dick Durbin.
How about everybody with a US degree send a copy of the diploma in a packet to Sen Durbin with a message - Dont hold us hostage because of a few bad apples..something to that nature?
Alternatively we can send it to Sen Obama asking him to please let the senior senator from illinois, sen Durbin, know we are high skilled immigrants - dont hold us hostage because of a few bad apples.

1. Today I read news wherein an organization of Indian Businessmen,Lawyers.Doctors are organizing fundraiser for Hilary Clinton. They are giving lot of money for her campaign. These people already have contacts with number of senators. They can help us in our cause at different level.
The Chairman of the organization in the news article Sant Singh Chatwal is a known hotilier in US.
