Anybody who filed after 06/04/2007, got receipt#
I am just trying to see if NSC could go past the I-485 received on 06/01/2007. Many folks whose application was received the first day got receipt and receipt#. Is there anyone who applied later and got the receipt or receipt#.
I know atleast 5 friends whose applications reached NSC on 06/04/2007. No updates yet. I am very +ve they will soon as they are even working weekends....

We are doing this to help everyone. Especially, those whose PD is still current as per September VB, if you act with in next 5-10 days, you have a chance. if you can individually file a law suit when your PD is current.Since my guess is, the lawsuit we are working on in this thread, will take some time to shape up. But this is a Biggie, we want to create a big impact. Meanwhile, folks who are out there waiting since 2001,2002.... you can follow the links that i pasted in my previous message. People have won lawsuit very similar to the one we are talking about. I can even paste some of the I-485 lawsuits filed because of unreasonable and unnecessary delays, when PD is current.

SO THEY PAY TUITION and TAXES after they start to work just like you Mr. GCsucks. You’re taxes go to the war effort and not to fund university research unlike tuition paid by international students. Not really..before PERM LC tooks 4-5 years and a lot of people got laid off at the end of 4th 5th year and lost everything...Years of exp is best. based on Intial LC is good too....Ultimately anyone with a masters + 2-3 yrs exp or bachelors with 4-5 yrs exp should not have to wait in queue. Their priority dates should be current...I still support the whole Company GC and not just a points based system

My wife got a soft LUD on 8/21. She has PD of Dec 2005 EB2 (I). I wa shappy to see some activity but then i saw the following thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum5-all-other-green-card-issues/1599851-ead-renewal-but-i-485-update.html#post1981520) . It looks like some got the soft LUD on their 485 but their EAD was in process and same is the case wiht my wife. She applied for EAD renewal last month.

i think it is very clear empirically that h1b is for a temp job and is a non-immigrant visa. it allows the employer to hire for a full time job too... whenever that intention is expressed, it should be expressed to DOL and USCIS in terms of PERM and I-140... thats that... once the h1 visa beneficiary is a beneficiary to I-140, then that person can apply for COS and avail AC21... so, i think it is clear that by itself h1 is temp. AC21 simply allows for h1 holder to extend H1 in case labor is clear and 140 is applied (labor expires in 6 months). further: ac21 allows job change after 485 app.

I think we all understand we are in this together. No doubt.
A single post from CORE IV can make a huge difference to herd the cattle (including myself) here. For Instance, AILA letter asking for H1B and EB relief today.
I had posted a modified version of their letter in our forum in which I had deleted asking for raise in H1 and retained only EB part. IF IV core thinks
this is a good (or a bad ) idea and suggests what to do, our members will be energized.
For my part, I have added my personal story, added the EB relief part of AILA letter and emailed two senators and one congressman in my state.
Also, the same letters signed are ready in an envelope to be snail mailed.
So, IV core, from time to time, when there is a campaign by AILA and other organizations which could help us, please suggest how you would like us to proceed.I am not trying to create more work for you, but as a member, I think it would benefit all of us.

Your idea is good and I would encourage you to go ahead and send such letters to lawmakers. Any effort that is in line with IV's agenda and helps us in any way will be helpful to all of us. IV endorsed efforts are listed in action alerts page. If you choose to go and meet the lawmakers we have put together all information for this purpose

I am starting this new thread to discuss about EB visas spillover usage based on oldest priority date irrespective of category/country. Currently the spillover happens vertically(a top down approach) from EB1 -> EB2 -> EB3...etc. Instead it should be first used on cases with oldest priority date. This will not only give a good move to clear the backlog but will also be a fair rule for those who are patiently waiting in queue for a long time. I wrote my concern about this to my local congressman. I also request each one of you, who is impacted by this, or who is interested to help us out, to kindly contact your local congressman/woman to express your concern. In turn they can contact USCIS to implement this fair rule to help us all out.

A lot of people in EB2 and EB3 can qualify for auto adjustment of status now, so it will remove people from EB3 queue making it smaller.
