I dont think it's true, I saw these rates are under international calling plan, so we are not signing up to that plan, so I would strongly believe that all cell phone calls are included to India, the same thing you can see when we click on the 60 countires list.....so find out with the tech support guys and keep update here to get the accurate answer on this...

I just received my 2 year EAD. Priority date is Nov 2002 - EB3 -India. Well I guess that says it all. If USCIS thinks that Nov 2002 will take at least another 2 years then I dunno what about the rest. I didn't wanna think about EB2 porting being so close and spend another 10k, I guess just need to stop worrying about it now. :)

EB3-I can benefit only if per country cap is removed. Can IV do something to get this done as part of Admin Fix? Otherwise EB3-I will rot in 2001/2002 for next 3 more years.

wrong calculation 5000/2500=2. It is 2 cents perminute. Have you used C# program?:)
Any way with vonage, one can call other friends in all other 60 counties and others part of us too..
If 2 cents per min = 5000 X 2 = 10000 cents = $100?

I know this topic has been thoroughly disussed above but still would appreciate some response to help me for my situation:
My husband has filed under EB3 category(chargeability India) and has a PD of Oct06. I-140 is pending and we have filed for I-485 (husband primary and me dependent), EAD and AP.
I have filed my GC on July9th and have an approved labor, and am planning to file my I-140 and I-485 as I have a charegability of Iraq.
My question is if I do file I-485 as the primary and make my husband the dependent on the application, do I still need to provide the A# number we received from his I-485 application receipt?
Can it have a negative impact on either of our GC application?
If we are asked to chose when will it be asked?
Please do reply and help me.

I think if number of employees are less than 50 then 50% rule will not be applicable(according to 2007 proposed bill). It may be similar to that.
But are n't they proposing 50 % rule.. how can a small desi company afford 50 % US citizen staff ? That is why may be people think consulting companies will not work.
but what I think is it will make them less profitable. Very small body shoppers will go out of business. Med to large indian owner based consulting companies will be less profitable.

I totally support the blood donation idea. I am pretty sure, a blood donation drive would be front page news on American Red Cross web site also. It should send out a message that the GC is so important to us.
The actual collection of blood hopefully will be fully carried out by the American Red Cross.

I am pretty new to the forum (as a member), I have been browsing the same for quite some time and found it a good source of information regarding immigration related activities. Right now I am getting removed from my project as one of the top 3 Indian outsourcing firm is dumping their L1 resources at my client site and replacing all the citizens, GCs, EADs, H1 etc. These resources are used in projects managed and controlled by my client (most of them are consulting assignments) and these resources are used on java/.net/oracle projects, these two are violations of L1 visa restrictions set by USCIS, I want to know how and where to complain against this violation and we have all evidence to prove the same (project documents, time sheets, work assignments etc). Please let me know exactly and to which agencies we should complain.

For an employment-based petition, in order to proceed and be valid, they need to still INTEND to be employed by the sponsoring employer if and when they get their green card. The employer however, does not need to sign any forms per se with relation to the adjustment petition. If the alien is currently working for the sponsoring employer (on H-1B or other) he or she can port or transfer employers without penalty or without losing the
green card process 180 days after they file the I-485 petition. At that point, they can change employers and work for whomever they wish (provided they have a valid work permit)
I have an employment-based petition and I'm presently unemployed. From what I understand, the sponsoring employer can hire me when I get my green card. So, when I get my EAD, which is most probably in 3 months, can I use it to work for whomever I wish?

I had already mentioned my EAD status when they had the interview. But after acceptiing it I mentioned it again in the conext of I9 form. Then they said they cant offer me emp;oyment due to my being on EAD.
This is a pretty big company. I understand that H1B is not protected under anti-discrimination for employment, but EAD holders, specifically those with AOS pending, are a protected against employment discrimination.
Does anyone have any links to the above conclusion ? I am so tired of this BS. I have spent long enough in this immigration c**p that if I have leave, might as well leave with a fight.

On the EAD itself it is written that it is illegal to discriminate against folks who are having EAD. So if you have any written or verbal proof about employer saying no based on EAD you have a case of discrimination.

4.) service center --> nsc
5.) pre-adjucated yes/no --> yes
6.) info pass yes/no --> yes (today - no help)
7.) uscis contact yes/no --> yes(case assigned to io)
8) service request yes/no --> yes (opened sr on 09/02/10 citing "outside processing
time" and no updates on the case after initial filing)
9.) contact senator yes/no --> no
10.) recent rfe yes/no --> evl in 2009
11.) ac-21 (employer change) no
12.)ported case(eb3->eb2) yes/no --> no
thanks to all the great folks at iv that helped me navigate through this journey. This has been a great forum to know the updates and issues faced by the highly skilled immigrants like us...
It has also helped me in understanding the situation from the inception of my journey and helped me make my moves accordingly with one goal of getting gc without going through any hassles.
And finally , i sincerely pray for all the folks in eb-3 to get some kind of relief soon, so you can get greened soon. And i would still support this great organization in what ever way i could.
