We got our receipts today. Mailed out the application on the 2nd - Reached NSC on the 3rd. Receipt numbers are SRC so my case got transferred to TSC.
Receipts are coming... just hang in there.

Dear mpkmaster, it is easy to ignore facts and throw stones like "your are rasist". And it is not easy to face the reality. Since you are so smart, I would like to ask you some questions:
1. Why there are long immigration lines in the US, Europe, Australia, Canada, Singapore etc, and almost none for Mexico, Latin America, Middle East etc. Maybe because these countries a full of "racists" ?
2. Tell me why some some people/countries can manage their economy and become attractive centers for immigration and other are just hell holes. There is a huge difference between Japan, S. Korea, China and N. Korea and they are populated by the same race - what has racism has to do with that ?
3. Why did you immigrate from your own country?
I will tell you one thing - due to my profession I have visited most countries in the world, including India. And definitely have a better understanding what is racism, what is protectionism, what is laziness, stupidity etc. Do not hide all these behind "racism", won't work...

My friend sent her package on may 18th and she saw on uscis that they dated the receipt as june 1st... so that can give you an idea.
I sent mine on June 1st....nothing yet.
on june 6th the immigration.com breaking new claims there is a backlog of receipt for up to 45 days.
I am expecting to get mine at least by june 30th because with the flood of applications on july first....whoi knows

REceived date is important, not the mailed date. So if one sent on jun 30 that's ok.

I think you will OK. Please wait couple of more days. :) TSC is slow in receipting...
My application was mailed on June 25th to TSC and picked up by TSC IO on June 28th . The new weekly processing update states processing/receipting completed till june 28th. But they still haven't cashed my check or issued any receipt ? When I called the 800 number to ask them regarding my application they first told me to wait for 15 days ,then 45 days and now 90 days. Whats the point of issuing weekly update if USCIS itself is not following it,it is creating more anxiety then doing any good.
I am wondering what if they misplaced/lost my application, will they accept resubmitting a new I485 petition after Aug17th based on Fedex signature conformation receipt signed by an IO, of previously filed petition??:confused:

Everybody has been waiting for his/her green card and congratulations to all those who has got their GC. On the other hand it is really unfair and to some extent unethical on the part of USICS not follow a fair system.
There are several people in 2004, 2005 who have been paitently waiting for their turn only to see that people behind them getting approved.
Several of us have writtent to Ombudsman, Director but of no avail.
Not sure what else can be done? Any Idea? Do we have any liaison with AILA who can take up this matter.
I can understand the frustration here. The problem is, USCIS has been doing this for several years and everyone knows this.
Even Ombudsman mention this in his report! So I dont think we can write much of letters about this...it is a well known and acknowledged fact!
Now what is the solution? The problem is USCIS claims that they do not have enough resouces to implement FIFO. Or may be they do not have a system to utilize available resources to do so.
This is not likely to change in next couple of months. So with all due respect, everyone with current PD but still waiting for GC will just have to wait and hope for the best. I wish my good luck to all. The best we can expect from USCIS at this point is to use all the visa numbers and not to waste any.
On a long run, this does need to change. It will take several months or years to change and it is worthwhile to attempt our efforts in that direction. Or suggest something in that line to include in upcoming CIR next year.

This is not correct from legal point of view. I would put this statement as
-- Must have valid work authorization. Sponsorship for any work visa is not offered.
Employer can not ask for kind of authorization. It could be, EAD, OPT, GC etc. As long as applicant is qualified as per I-9 form, kind of authorization should not matter.
Of course, H-1B applicant can not apply for this job position since visa sponsorship is not available.

I think "speaking change" versus working together to bring about change is where we all need to think. All of us have our own priorities and including me sometimes miss the point and sit in the sidelines. Make no assumptions, if we can't come together or put in hours of work specifically to support IV, everything will just remain a dream. We need to start taking initiatives and working towards a common goal to fix the broken system. We may disagree on things here and there and IV cannot support or take every position dear to us as an organization. We need to think as a community for the community and not purely my case or your case:)

There are still many out there who are happily enjoying the fruits of Aman's and other core members' hard work without even knowing what they did for us. For them it's just something that happened on its own. I joined in June and became a contributing member when I came to know the efforts being put in by core. I know for some people shelling out $100 is a big deal, particularly AFTER the victory in this first fight, but guys, think if you were made to wait for 3-4 more years before you were allowed to apply. Your spouses can work now and make more money for your household.

You are talking about 2004, 05. What about 2001, 2002 and 2003? There are so many people with 2002 priority dates still waiting just like me. Mine is 02/2002
What a unfair/unethical/inhuman system. I curse everyone who is causing this delay. They will all land up in hell.

Simple reason USCIS will tell you/senator/judge/anyone who really seek the resolution of our loooooong delayed cases is.....case is in security/background/additional review checks.....so everyone will shut their mouth and forward this message to the concerned person.....

In current situation Labor is impossible for approval. My attorney told me clearly that labor is impossible to approve in this bad economy and wastage of money.

In my humble opinion USCIS cannot be sued for NOT following their own guidelines. Thats the difference between guidelines and laws...But again I am not a lawyer.

I take frequent trips to India and all of them are extremely satisfying, and many times the thought has crossed my mind about the possiblity of moving back but it will take some time for changes to happen for the good and that is because i think,
We, Indians have a basic mental flaw wherein we shy away from unpleasant confrontation regardless of the merits of our case or the adverse consequences that such inertia engenders. The net result is that we are unable to translate our moral convictions into practical reality allowing law abiding citizens to be held hostage to the tantrums of a belligerent and corrupt minority, who call the shots in most places, right from the bottom to the top , in any sphere or area...(rather than talent and merit that should call the shots )
